So to cut to the chase Mr. Obama in his victory speech last night states:

I know how hard it will be to alleviate poverty that has built up over centuries, how hard it will be to fix schools, because changing our schools will require not just money, but a change in attitudes.

We're going to have to parent better, and turn off the television set, and put the video games away, and instill a sense of excellence in our children, and that's going to take some time.

The clearly derogatory suggestion of putting the video games away then ofcorce justifies the statement of this Kotaku Editor:

I'm fairly certain my prime minister doesn't know what a video game is, so for now, Canada is safe. But it's scary when a potential leader of a country so passively attributes video games with failure. It sounds like yet another instance of a politician not fully understanding what he's talking about, and jumping on the bandwagon, proliferating the
popular sentiment that "video games are evil."

And so to which I exclaim what the hell.

It should be noted that Kotaku also were the ones to make groundbreaking developments in investigative journalism as they accused IGN Editor Matt Casamassina of being married to his own wife (http://kotaku.com/gaming/ign/ign-nintendo-scandal-or-old-news-3)

I also prefer Joystiq, and I think the quote is overly sensationalized. I think what he was getting at is that if you are living in poverty, have 3 kids and no job, then perhaps there is something better to do with your time than play games. Just like if your kid is failing in school there are better things they could be doing than playing games or watching TV.

I think Mr. Obama is a fine young man and anyone who says otherwise can go try on a white robe

Molyneux likes to talk about things that are in the game that art such as being able to grow trees when its still in development but Sakurai is saying everything after the fact

point is the boys over at kotaku are just being dicks now

on a slighly related note nintendo people at ign say that voice chat is infact comming from nintendo! but its proboly going to be in some kind of gimped fassioned. believe they said soemthing about favoring third party voice communication products over nintendos or something so it would proboly plug into the remote for no reason.

only way i could see it is if it was running all the time in the background. you hite the home button and the wii interface comes up so you woudlnt think that you cant do the same thing with voice chat

but for those of you who dont want to wait for a crazy nintendo voice over ip friend code driven network head on over to www.gamecomm.com and downlaod gamecomm and connect to the fnpirates server!

were going to get paid for saying that some day.

There is some voice chat in a couple DS Games, but one of the issues with the Wii is that there isn't really a good spot to hook up a headset to the controller like there is with the 360. It does use Bluetooth so that is an option, but I think they'd need a firmware update to allow something other than the normal Wii Controller to connect via Bluetooth. Then there's the 2 USB ports in the back but I don't think those will ever get used for anything other than the LAN adapter.
